Coral Beach
The best place to go for shore snorkeling, Coral Beach is located between Mantanzas and Varadero. Feel free to go solo diving, but its better to enter at Laguna de Maya where you can rent equipment and link up with a guide who helps you along the reef. There’s also an on-site bar and restaurant, boat rentals, diving and horseback riding.

Saturno Cave
Go for a swim in an underground cave when you visit the Saturno Caves (Cueva Saturno). It’s a bit of a challenge to climb down, but once you’re there, you won’t want to leave the refreshing cool waters for some time. Cueva Saturno is a popular stop along many Varadero excursions, so if you prefer to go on your own, its best to go in the morning or late afternoon.

Varahicacos Ecological Reserve
For a nice hike and some great sight-seeing, the Varahicacos Ecological Reserve is a nice spot. It’s not a highly heralded attraction, but it’s also a nice way to get away from the local tourism and do some solo sight-seeing.

Municipal de Varadero Museum
This quaint little wooden house with a wrap around porch is an attraction suggested by many during their visiting Cuba. Although it was converted into a balconied chalet to display period furniture and the like, it’s the house that is the real museum. Built as early as the 1920’s, and made of wood, it’s quite a spectacle in itself.
